METHOD AND DEVICE FOR RECORDING AND READING OF NUMERICAL SOUND INFORMATION SIGNALS

A method of recording and reading of numerical sound information signals provides for compression in time of the numerical sound information signals by separating the sequence of numerical signal code values corresponding to the pause in the sound signal, measuring the duration of said sequence of numerical signal code values and forming a pause indication code and a pause duration code with their subsequent recording together with the numerical signal. The decompression in time of the numerical signals during their reading is then effected by separating the pause indication code and the pause duration code on the basis of which the duration of said sequence of numerical signal code values is reestablished. For this purpose a device for implementation of this method is provided with, correspondingly interconnected, a pause decoder (17), a pause indication code former (18), a pause indication code decoder (19), a shaper (20) of signals for controlling pause duration counting and a pause duration counter (21).
