In the process and equipment described, the exit air is cooled, passed through absorbers and then discharged into the open. The process is characterised in that, in the condenser, the temperature of the water vapour present in the exit air is caused to fall below its dew point, so that this water vapour is liquefied to form water which is separated from the solvent and discharged, that the remaining, solvent-containing exit air is passed through a first absorber, that the exit air is then passed through at least one second absorber and that, during a controllable period during which the exit air is purified in the first and second absorbers, at least one further absorber connected to the equipment is regenerated. The equipment is characterised in that, downstream of the fan (21), a condenser (22) for liquefying the water vapour in the exit air is arranged, that, downstream thereof, at least three absorbers (23, 24, 25) are provided which are in each case directly connected to one another on the inlet side and outlet side and mutually connected via by-pass lines, that the inlets and the outlets of the absorbers have valves (1 to 18) and that the absorbers (23, 24, 25) are additionally connected to a further circulation in which there are a further condenser (26), a further fan (27) and an air heater (28). <IMAGE>
