<p>Device for cutting a continuously fabricated tube, and more particularly a cardboard tube fabricated by means of a so called ''spiralling'' machine. The device according to the invention comprising a knife-holder carriage (7) which is mounted movable in translation and which is provided with means for actuating the knives (4) and with means for the return to the initial position after each cutting operation, is characterized in that the carriage (7) is moved by a driving mechanism which is actuated by a rotary motor (18) which is rotationally servo-controlled (27, 28, 29, 31, 30) at the running speed of the tube (1) and through a clutch system (17) which is servo-controlled by a device (27, 28, 29, 27', 28', 29', 38, 39) for determining the lengths of sections to be obtained so as to control the clutch function of said system after each cutting operation and as a function of said desired lengths. The invention provides also particular and convenient means for the rapid return of the carriage.</p> |
