An electrically insulated conductive article having atmospherically stable thermally sensitive polymeric insulation material comprising a thermosetting acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber containing at least 1% acrylonitrile and polyvinyl chloride or thermoplastic blends of a polyvinyl chloride and an acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber containing at least 1% acrylonitrile, neither containing free sulphur and both including a quaternary ammonium compound to increase the sensitivity of the polymeric material to changes in impedance.
