A building having longitudinal walls and side walls and a roof spanning the latter - and wall blocks for this purpose - is to be designed such that an improvement of the heat insulation of buildings and the air-conditioning thereof is possible. For this purpose, the longitudinal walls and side walls (11,12), on the one hand, and/or the roof (15), on the other hand, exhibit an air chamber (31 and 32, respectively) which passes through them and delimits the jacket of air which is closed with respect to the outer surface of the building. Said jacket of air encloses, preferably above the bottom (13) of the building, the entire building interior. <IMAGE>
