PURPOSE:To securely shift a temporarily stored form breadthwise without being affected by the tolerance of the form by providing a means which detects whether or not the end part of the form on an intermediate tray is within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:A couple of slide members 74 are coupled mutually by a link mechanism 75 on a base 71 so as to contact each other, a rack 76a is moved by a stepping motor 76c to right and left, and the members 74 are moved in the opposite directions by the same distance. Light emitting bodies 79a are formed at raised parts 77 at outside ends of the members 74 and a light reception body 79b and a slit 79c for light transmission are formed on the base 71. A form size selection key is pressed to drive the motor 76c, and the interval between the raised parts 77 is made coincident with the size of the form. Therefore, when a copy is taken on one form >=2 times, a breadthwise shifting device provided on the intermediate tray shifts the form breadthwise securely without being affected by the tolerance of the form size is large or small, thereby preventing the form being fed slantingly. |
