PURPOSE:To execute the miniaturizing, lightening and electric-power-saving of a device by executing the adding and sending it as a video signal for monitoring after the pick-up signal of respective channels picked up from recording media is FM-demodulated. CONSTITUTION:After a video signal recorded by a sampling multi-phase dividing method and pick-up signals PBA and PBB of respective channels picked up from recording media 6 are FM-demodulated by FM demodulating circuits 8A and 8B, they are added by an adder 21 and sent as a video signal OUT for monitoring. By the adding action, return noise components S2AN and S2BN included in FM-modulated signals S2A and S2B are cancelled, and therefore, the video signal OUT for the monitoring can be obtained which can confirm whether or not a video signal VID is recorded in the recording media 6. Here, since pick-up signals PBA and PBB are not re-sampled, a re-sampling circuit is not necessary.
