PURPOSE:To obtain a urethane foam excellent in a deodorizing performance and suitable as an air filter or the like, by foaming a specified prepolymer having an isocyanate group on a molecular terminal by reaction with water in the presence of a ferric salt-ascorbic acid deodorant. CONSTITUTION:A polyether polyol of an ethylene oxide unit content >=20wt% is produced by, for example, a method comprising addition-polymerizing a polyalcohol such as ethylene glycol or glycerol with ethylene oxide or propylene oxide. This polyether polyol is reacted with an organic isocyanate (e.g., tolylene diisocyanate) to produce a prepolymer having an isocyanate group on a molecular terminal. This prepolymer is foamed by reaction with water in the presence of a ferric salt-ascorbic acid deodorant to obtain the purpose deodorizing urethane foam. |
