PURPOSE:To obtain a phototsensitive material superior in covering power, graininess, and sharpness by coating with a photosensitive emulsion solution having a specified electric conductivity. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive emulsion layer is prepared by applying the photosensitive emulsion solution having an electric conductivity of 2-200muOMEGA<-1>cm<-1>, preferably, 2-80muOMEGA<-1>cm<-1>. The silver halide grains contained in the emulsion layer of a photosensitive material obtained by applying said solution are almost regularly arranged by rendering the concentration of the coating emulsion solution far lower than that of the emulsion solution generally used for the usual desalting treatment, thus permitting the grains to exist effectively in high density in the emulsion layer and to be enhanced in covering power, accordingly, increased in sensitivity, remarkably improved in graininess, and raised in sharpness. |
