PURPOSE:To permit the detection of flame ion current without being affected by the change in position of a flame by a method wherein a flame rod, judging the combustion condition of the flame by the flame ion current, is provided with a detecting end inserted into the flame in parallel to the combustion direction of the flame of a burner. CONSTITUTION:A flame rod 10 is provided with a detecting end 11 provided in parallel to the combustion direction of the flame of a burner 9 while a flame ion current flowing through the flame rod 10 is detected by a detecting circuit 12 and is inputted into a combustion detector 13. When the amount of combustion is small, the flame does not reach the flame rod 10, therefore, the flame current becomes very small. Accordingly, the changing degree of the flame current If with respect to the change in air-fuel ratio (m) becomes very small and the detection of it is difficult. On the other hand, a rod X becomes less affected by the amount of combustion. According to this method, the flame current detected by the detecting end 11 of the flame rod 10 hardly receives the affection of the movement on the combustion position of the flame, whereby only the change of the flame ion may be detected. |
