PURPOSE:A drug for renopathy containing an imidazoquinazoline compound or a salt thereof as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A remedy for renopathy obtained by containing a compound expressed by the formula (R1 is dilower alkylamino, cyclic amino or substituted cyclic amino; R2 is H, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy) or a salt thereof, e.g. 7-piperidino-1,2,3,5-tetrahydroimidazo[2,1-b]quinazolin-2-one.dihydroc hloride, etc., as an active ingredient. This remedy has action of reducing urine protein in nephritis and is effective against glomerulonephritis, nephrosis, lupus nephritis, etc., increasing urinary protein. The dose thereof is 5-50mg/adult/time and preferably orally administered 1-3 time a day. Since this remedy is rapidly absorbed in oral administration and the change in blood level is similar to that in intravenous administration, the dose in an almost equal amount is suitable even as an injection.
