PURPOSE:To reduce a waiting time for reproduction, and to improve reproducing sound quality, by forming the movement of a head by a travelling device of high speed movement for the track retrieval of a tape, and of low speed movement for the sound recording and the reproduction of the tape, adding a detecting means to detect one revolution on a tape of wide width, and moving a mobile device by a detected signal. CONSTITUTION:A detecting foil 12 detecting the completion of one rotation by a detecting device 22 fixed at a box body 20 is stuck on a tape 10, and also, a straight line part 13, and an inclined part 14 are formed on plural tracks 11 on the both plane of the tape. At the travelling time of the tape in the sound recording, the detecting foil 12 of the tape 10 is detected at a position where the sound recording of the straight line part 13 is completed, by the mobile device 22. By the detected signal, a track motor 71 in a mobile device 70 moves the first head 40 by one track of the tracks 11. Then, since the tape 10 itself is travelling by a driving device 60, the first head 40 performs the same movement coinciding with the inclined part of the tape 10 as a result. Therefore, since oblique travelling is performed not only at the sound recording time, but also at the reproduction time, no tremendous influence is resulted on the sound quality of the reproducing sound.
