PURPOSE:To maintain sensitivity high even after storage for a long term or under severe conditions by incorporating a base or its precursor in a layer other than a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive material contains the base or its precursor in a layer other than the photosensitive layer. Since it is insulated from the component of the photosensitive layer during raw storage, the sensitivity is not liable to deteriorate, and since it can diffuse in the photosensitive layer during development, it does not impair the function of promoting image formation. The base is preferably such as hydroxides or the like of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals as inorganic bases, and aliphatic amines and aromatic amines as organic bases. The base precursor can be embodied by guanidine trichloroacetate, piperidine trichloroacetate, and the like.
