PURPOSE:To obtain a picture quality in accordance with the type of an original and a favorite picture quality and to improve the picture quality by selecting the contents of an interpolating table. CONSTITUTION:Original picture data Da of 4 bits to input are shifted by latches 401 and 402 to receive a clock CLK 1, obtained as Dal and Da2 in which only one picture element is dislocated, and come to be the address signal of an interpolating ROM 403 where interpolating data between two points are stored as a table beforehand. As the address of the interpolation ROM 403, respective original picture data Da1 and Da2 of two points to input to terminals A4-A7 and A8-A11 and selecting data SD to select which position interpolated linearly is outputted are given. The interpolation ROM 403, when the address by these three data is given, outputs the interpolating data Db of 4 bits stored beforehand to a latch 404. Since the data of the interpolation ROM are changed by the type and characteristic of the picture, the characteristic of the picture can be changed or the picture quality can be improved. |
