PURPOSE:To obtain a photographic material having high sensitivity and satisfac tory graininess and inhibiting fog by incorporating a Fischer dispersion type coupler into one or more silver halide emulsion layers contg. silver halide particles having (110) faces. CONSTITUTION:Silver halide particles used are crystals having crystal faces defined by Miller indices (110) on the outer surfaces and the total area of the (110) faces is preferably >=20% of the total surface area of the particles. The preferred amount of such silver halide particles in a silver halide emulsion used is >=30wt%. A Fischer dispersion type yellow coupler used is preferably a coupler having benzoylacetoanilide as the skeleton, especially preferably a coupler represented by the formula (where each of R1-R4 is a substitutable component such as a substituent or H, X1 is a group or atom releasable by the reaction of the coupler with the oxidized product of a color developing agent, one or more among R1-R4 have a diffusion preventing group and one or more among R1-R4 and X1 have an acidic group). |
