PURPOSE:To suppress the deterioration of the performance of the heat pipe by forming a portion corresponding to the evaporating part of a container by steel having a corrosion resistance against high-temperature water, and also forming an evaporating part by carbon steel. CONSTITUTION:In a heat pipe 1 wherein water is used as a working liquid, a part corresponding to an evaporating part 8 of a container 7 is formed by steel having a corrosion resistance against high-temperature water, and a part corresponding to a condensing portion 9 is formed by carbon steel. As steel having a corrosion resistance against high-temperature water, low alloy steel such as chrome steel, chrome-molybdenum steel or the like, or stainless steel or the like. Because the part corresponding to the evaporating part 8 of the container 7 is formed by steel having a corrosion resistance against high temperature water, the reaction between water and iron at the evaporating part 8 is suppressed. As a result, only a small amount of a hydrogen gas is produced. Furthermore, the small amount of the hydrogen gas produced reaches the evaporating part. However, since this part is formed by carbon steel having a hydrogen permeability, the hydrogen gas passes through the wall of the container and is discharged out of the heat pipe. |
