Novel compounds, viz. 3-(2,2,2-trisubstituted hydrazinium) propionates have the following general formula: <IMAGE> wherein R1, R2 and R3 are an alkyl, a substituted alkyl, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl, an aralkyl or an unsaturated alkyl; R4, R5 are hydrogen or a lower alkyl; n is 0 to 2, except for the case where R1, R2 and R3 are methyl, R4 and R5 are not hydrogen. The compounds of the present invention possess both hypotensive and antiarrhythmic activity and are useful in medicine.
