PURPOSE:To improve the installation, removal, and reproduction of a color selection electrode, by arranging a panel movable, a color electrode movable while fixed in one direction, and fitting the support springs of the color selection electrode and the engaging pins of the panel. CONSTITUTION:Pin recievers are raised to load a panel 1 on a stage, and the panel is brought down. After the panel 1 is positioned in the directions X and Y on the way to go down, three engaging pins 2 of the panel 1 contact to the pin recivers, and the panel 1 is positioned in the Z direction. After the positioning of the panel 1 in the Z direction is fixed by abutting Z fixing devices 36 to the sealing end 1a of the panel 1, the pin recivers 20 go down apart from the engaging pins 2, and the positioning of the panel 1 is completed. In this condition, the panel 1 is fixed at its lower side in the Z direction, and the movement in the X direction, the Y direction, and the theta direction (rotating direction) are made free. Then, spring retainers 18 return to the intermediate position P2, and support springs 6 are fitted with the engaging pins 2.
