PURPOSE:To uniformly hold the picture recording density of an electrostatic recorder, by detecting the surface resistance of the dielectric thin film on the surface of a latent image carrier by means of a surface resistance detecting means and controlling a heating means in accordance with the detected surface resistance value. CONSTITUTION:In order to set the surface resistance value of a dielectric thin film 2a at a resistance value within a prescribed range, an operation signal which is fixed to heat the thin film 2a to a prescribed temperature is amplified by a control amplifier 21 and a heat coil 22 which is heating means is conducted. While measuring the surface resistance value of the dielectric thin film 2a, the surface resistance value of the thin film 2a is converged to a prescribed range. In addition to the heating of the thin film 2a on a latent image carrier 2 to a fixed temperature, the temperature control is performed so as to bring the surface resistance value within the prescribed range even when the resistance value of the thin film 2a changes due to a change in environment, such as ambient temperature, etc. Therefore, the quantity of electric charges formed on the thin film 2a becomes uniform and the density of the picture visualized from the latent image becomes uniform and stable. |
