PURPOSE:To protect the work area of a job and a program by providing the titled system with a means for setting up a memory area set up by an area setting means to a write inhibition area or a readable area. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 controls a computer system and executes plurals jobs. The memory to be used for programs executing respective jobs and their work areas are turned a readable/writable state when its CS terminal is turned to '1'. Registers corresponding to the addresses of areas in the memory 2 are stored in an address file register 5 and flags for determining whether respective areas are writable/readable or writing is to be inhibited are also prepared. The flags are applied to a selector 6 to control access to the memory 2.
