PURPOSE:To lower the temperature of a thrust bearing below an allowable level by providing a hollow section in a thrust collar of a thrust bearing and communicating to a steam space at a heat producing section of a rotary shaft heat pipe. CONSTITUTION:A hollow section 9 is provided to a thrust collar 22 of a thrust bearing 3 and communicated to a steam space 9 at the heat producing section of a rotary shaft heat pipe 7. Consequently, it is simply required to transmit the heat through a short distance from a heat producing face of the thrust collar 22 to the hollow section 9, the hollow section 9 having a large heat transmission area and a working fluid path 19 while the thermal resistance at the heat producing section can be reduced by enlarging the evaporation area at the heat producing section of the rotary shaft heat pipe 7. As a result, the temperature of the thrust collar 22 can be lowered below an allowable level.
