PURPOSE:To correctly process a hardware error and to improve the reliability by switching the interruption of storage protection illegality to that of machine check of hardware when the code of a key memory does not coincide with its copy code. CONSTITUTION:A memory control mechanism 22 controls the access to a memory in a CPU 2a. It is discriminated whether required data exists on a cache memory 20 or not, and taking-in of pertinent data from a main memory device 3 is controlled and a reference code 201 and contents of a copy 21 of the key memory are compared with each other if required data does not exist there. When storage protection illegality is detected by the mechanism 22, it is reported to a key memory comparing mechanism 23 by a storage protection illegality signal 202. The mechanism 23 reads out the code of the pertinent page in the key memory 31 of the device 3 and compares it with the code of the same page of the copy 21; and if they do not coincide with each other, the hardware error is discriminated and the interruption of storage protection illegality is switched to that of machine check of hardware and the interruption is processed. |
