PURPOSE:To improve controllability and stability by controlling a suspension so as to have the vibration characteristic of a target vehicle when carrying out at least one of ground clearance adjustment, damping force control, and spring constant control based on the measured result of the traveling condition, etc. of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:When driving an automobile 2, an information 21 on change in road height and an information 22 on change in the height of gravitational center of a body which are measured by a sensor 1 are inputted into a computer 4. And, by using a target vehicle vibration characteristic model 11, a spring constant and a damping coefficient for each wheel are calculated so as to have the vibration characteristic of a target vehicle by a calculating means 12, and the actuator of a suspension is controlled based on the calculated value. The target vehicle vibration characteristic model may be read into the computer 4 from a card or a tape. Thereby, it is possible for a driver to enjoy the riding quality of various types of vehicles while restraining rolling, bouncing, and pitching, to improve controllability and stability. |
