PURPOSE:To improve the bending elastic modulus and the rigidity based on this of a plastic window member without injuring the transparency of a plastic material by making a transparent plastic material contain a reinforcing fiber material which is shorter than the wave length of visible rays. CONSTITUTION:The captioned plastic window member 1 which is suited to the window member of an automobile consists of a transparent plastic material 2, e.g., transparent methyl methacrylate (methacrylate resin) and fine reinforcing fiber 3 which is contained in the plastic material 2 while which is shorter than the wave length of visible rays. As for the fine reinforcing fiber 3, e.g., the whisker of polyoxymethylene is used. By the use of such a window member 1, the bending elastic modulus and the rigidity based on this of the plastic window member can be improved without injuring the transparency of a transparent plastic material. |
