A description is given of a process for sealing a sleeve for protecting the connection of electric cables, which comprises two caps 1a, 1b coupled one against the other, the edge 2a of one 1a of the two caps having a rib 12 introduced in a groove 13 arranged in the edge 2b of the other cap 1b. The groove 13 is bordered by a flexible wall 14 and the rib 12 introduced in the groove has a face 12a which forms an angle a of a few degrees with the inner face 14a of the flexible wall 14. The space formed by this angle is occupied by a strip of filler 16 which is deformed and compressed between said faces 12a and 14a. The invention is used for protecting telephone and electric cables against damp (moisture).
