<p>A non-return valve has a housing of cap-like elements (2) and (3) mounting a central valve body 1 slidably retaining a valve member (4). The valve housing (2, 3, 1) and valve member (4) define a central inlet cavity (13') and outlet cavity (13) and an intercommunicating substantially annular passage (12) around the valve member (4). A spring (6) biasses the valve to the closed condition. In response to fluid supply pressure the valve opens to provide an efficient fluid flow path. In a modification (Fig. 9) the slidable valve member (42,43) has fins (44) that guide it on the housing (40,41). <IMAGE></p> |
