PURPOSE:To obtain a two-phase stainless steel having superior corrosion resistance in crude phosphoric acid prepared by a wet phosphoric acid process, by specifying a composition consisting of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Ni, Cr, Mo, N, and Fe. CONSTITUTION:The two-phase stainless steel having superior corrosion resistance in crude phosphoric acid has a composition consisting of, by weight, <=0.08% C, <=1.00% Si, <=2.00% Mn, <=0.06% P, <=0.03% S, 3.0-7.5% Ni, 22.0-27.0% Cr, 1.0-3.5% Mo, 0.10-0.30% N, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and further containing, if necessary, 1.0-3.0% Cu. The above two- phase stainless steel exhibits superior corrosion resistance even under severe conditions when used in a wet phosphoric acid process.
