MOUNTING STRUCTURE FOR GRINDING TIP OF DIAMOND TOOL

PURPOSE:To weld diamond grinding tip to the body of a tool in a short time and perform processing of the tool body easily by forming a sharp ridge at the tip mounting surface of the tool body concentrically with the rotary shaft of the tool body. CONSTITUTION:The body 1 of a tool is rotated round its rotary shaft hole, and a sharp ridge 3 is formed at the tip mounting surface by the periphery of said tool body 1. A diamond grinding tip 2 is put in contact with these ridges 3, followed by resistance welding, and the front of each ridge 3 is heated into fusion in a short time, and a quick jointing pressure is applied between the tip 2 and the tool body 1 so as to extrude the molten metal 2a from the end face of the body 1. Thus the jointing area of the tip 2 with body 1 is widened and the tip 2 is welded solidly with the body 1 in a short time.
