PURPOSE:To obtain an Al alloy for cold forging having delayed ageing characteristic and wear resistance, by providing a composition which contains specific compositional amounts of Cu, Si, and Sn and in which Mg content is limited. CONSTITUTION:The Al alloy combining delayed ageing characteristic with wear resistance has a composition consisting of, by weight, 2.5-7.0% Cu, 0.5-12% Si, 0.01-1.0% Sn, Mg by an amount limited to <=0.5%, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities, containing, if necessary, 0.001-0.1% Ti and 0.001-0.01% B, and further containing, if necessary, one or more kinds among <=1.5% Fe, <=1.5% Mn, <=0.3% Cr, <=0.3% Zr, <=3.0% Ni, and <=3.0% Zn. This alloy has superior strength and cold forgeability.
