PURPOSE:To improve the hot rollability of a wear-resistant copper alloy, by incorporating specific amounts of Zn, Al, Mn, Fe, Si, and an Fe-Mn-Si ternary compound and by specifying Fe/Si and Mn/Si, by weight, of the above compound. CONSTITUTION:An alloy has a composition consisting of, by weight, 10-30% Zn, 2-5% Al, 0.5-5% Mn, 0.5-3% Fe, 0.5% Si, 1-11% Fe-Mn-Si ternary compound, and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities. Further, Fe/Si and Mn/Si, by weight, of the above compound are regulated to 0.3-10, respectively. Owing to the above composition, a wear-resistant copper alloy excellent in resistance to impact and wear as well as in hot workability can be obtained. When this copper alloy is hot-worked after casting, intermetallic compounds are finely and uniformly precipitated and dispersed in a matrix, so that toughness as well as hot workability can be improved.
