PURPOSE:To prepare an antifoamer composition not only from neutral liquid but also from alkaline liquid by using a composition consisting of hydrophobic oil such as organopolysiloxane oil or the like and hydrophobically treated silica dust-size particles. CONSTITUTION:Hydrophobic base oil is selected out of any of organopolysiloxane oil, inorganic oil or mixture of both. With 100pts.wt. of said hydrophobic base oil, 2-50pts.wt. of silica dust-size particles hydrophobically treated with diorganosiloxane oligomer shown in the Formula is mixed. Specific surface area of silica dust-size particles should at least be 50m<2>/g. The mixture is desirably heated up and stirred in a temperature of 120-200 deg.C for 2-3hr. Said composition has an antifoaming effect, and particularly lowering of antifoaming effect as seen with existing silicon family antifoamer in alkaline frothing liquid does not happen.
