PURPOSE:To enable performing maintenance and inspection easily by providing a radially weakest portion of a rotor bar from a rotor core end to a second air duct portion. CONSTITUTION:A rotor core 2 secured by a shaft 1 and a side plate 3 is composed of a plurality of packets and a plurality of air ducts. A rotor bar 4 inserted into a plurality of slots 2a provided in the outer periphery of the rotor core 2 is connected at its both ends with a short-circuit ring 5. The rotor bar 4 is provided with its radial top face notch 7 from its both ends till the rotor core 2 end to a second packet 2b end and the weakest portion of this notch 7 is arranged so as to be positioned from a stator core 2 end to a second air duct 2e portion.
