PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording paper enhanced in printing density and having resistance to varieties of chemicals, oils, water, sticking, and blocking, as well as having an industrial advantages, by a method wherein a protective layer containing a fluorine plastic, a modified polyvinyl alcohol having silicon atoms in its molecules, and a colloidal silica and/or an amorphous silica is formed on the upper layer of a thermal coloring layer containing a colorless or light-colored dye precursor and a compound reacting with the dye precursor to produce color. CONSTITUTION:A fluorine plastic and a silicon-containing modified polyvinyl alcohol are allowed to be contained either in the same layer or in the different layers. But, the silicon-containing modified polyvinyl alcohol and a colloidal silica and/or an amorphous silica are required to be contained in the same layer. As the fluorine plastic, an ethylene tetrafluoride resin a vinylidene fluoride resin, a vinyl fluoride resin, or the like is used. The modified polyvinyl alcohol having silicon atoms in its molecules may be used without being limited, if it contains silicon atoms in its molecules. |
