PURPOSE:To cool a rotor effectively by passing a cooling air axially through a rotor inner periphery by operation of a fan blade on the back of an outer fan. CONSTITUTION:A fan blade 26b on the surface of a main plate 26a, as it rotates, takes in a cooling wind from the end face of an outer fan cover 13 surrounding said blade 26b and feeds said wind from a vent hole 31a into the inner part of an electric machine body 34. A fan blade 26c on the back of a main plate 26a, as it rotates, takes in a cooling air from an inner vent hole 32b of bracket 25 by means of an air guide 36 through an air passage 21a of rotor 21 and an inner vent hole 31b of bracket 24 and feeds said air from the vent hole 31a into the inner part of the electric machine body 34. The cooling air taken in by this fan blade 26c is fed by the fan blade 26b, joins a cooling wind passing axially through the inner part of frame 3 to cool a stator 9 and thereafter is discharged from an outer vent hole 32a of the bracket 25.
