<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the inconvenience of igniting a gasoline which remains unusually in an intake pipe by executing the burn off of the heating coil of an intake air quantity sensor when an engine is operated above a defined time while satisfying a defined operating conditions. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control unit 10 generates a burn off control signal 14 when every burn off condition is satisfied, and sends out the signal to a heating coil type intake air quantity sensor 2. When engine water temp. which is detected by a cooling water temp. sensor 13 becomes above a defined value or engine speed becomes above a defined value when a certain time has elapsed after starting an engine, a burn off flag is set. And, when the burn off flag is still in a set condition after the engine is stopped, burn off is executed. Thereby, since burn off is carried out after a gasoline which unusually remains in an intake manifold 6 is sufficiently scavenged, it is eliminated that the gasoline near the intake air quantity sensor 2 is ignited by burn off.</p> |
