PURPOSE:To obtain a desired steering ratio characteristic by constituting the steering angle ratio of a rear wheel steering angle to a front wheel steering angle to be changeable in accordance with a given steering ratio characteristic selected whereby providing a plurality of steering ratio characteristics with specified phases. CONSTITUTION:A controller 25 includes a section 31 which receives car speed signals from a steering angle sensor 26 and a car speed sensor 27 so as to operate a target rear wheel steering angle corresponding to a front wheel steering angle and car speed based on the steering ratio characteristic of a characteristic memory section 30, a pulse generator 32 outputting a pulse signal corresponding to the target steering angle, and a driver 33 outputting pulse signals for driving a pulse motor 14 and a hydraulic pump driving motor 24, wherein a variable steering ratio means 34 is constituted by the aforementioned components. And a section 35 which selects one of steering ratio characteristics with a selection switch 28 changed over, is also provided. And a plurality of steering ratio characteristics is provided with two kinds of sections: one has the range for both anti-phase and in-phase, and the other has the range only for in-phase. |
