PURPOSE:To prevent a recording and reproducing head from pressure-contacting a disk for a long time by moving the head intermittently in the radial direction of the disk during a non-recording/reproducing time and rotating the disk. CONSTITUTION:The recording and reproducing head 4 is moved by means of a head transferring mechanism 5 and a driving circuit 6 and the disk 2 is rotated by a driving circuit 16 and a control circuit 17, during a non-recording/ reproducing time. The transferring and and the rotation are controlled with a timer signal A and B or C outputted by a timer circuit 8 not to return the head 4 to the original radial position even when the head 4 is returned to the original circumferential position of the disk 2 in most cases. In such a way, a harm on the disk 2 due to the long lasting pressure-contact of the head 4 on the disk 2 can be prevented from occurring by means of a simple device and with a simple operation. |
