PURPOSE:To improve the scratch resistance by laminating thermoplastic resin layers A, B, forming a thin ferromagnetic metallic film on the layer A side surface of the resulting laminated film and specifying the thickness and surface roughness Ra of the layer A, the hardness ratio of the layer A to the layer B and the F-5 value of the laminated film. CONSTITUTION:Thermoplastic resin layers A, B are laminated and a thin ferromagnetic metallic film is formed on the layer A side surface of the resulting laminated film to obtain a magnetic recording medium. At this time, the thickness of the layer A is regulated to 1/100-1/2 of that of the laminated film, the surface roughness Ra of the layer A to <=0.010mu and the hardness ratio of the layer A to the layer B to 1/100-90/100. The F-5 value of the laminated film is also regulated to >=9kg/mm<2>. Thus, the resistance of the magnetic recording medium to scratch by a magnetic head and the S-N can be improved. |
