PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of a magnetic sheet and to start transmission/ reception of information quickly by applying the control setting a regulating member pressing a magnetic sheet to the pressing position when a drive command signal to a drive motor exists. CONSTITUTION:In applying a power switch 10, a system controller 6 starts a drive motor 2 of a magnetic sheet 1 and moves a magnetic head 3 to a prescribed track position. A control motor 9 is driven at the same time. Since a support plate 5 descends the regulating member 4 to the contact position between a head 3 and the sheet 1, the sheet 1 is clipped between the member 4 and the head 3. Then the recording/reproduction to the sheet 1 is applied under the control of a controller 6. When the switch is opened, the controller 6 stops the motor 2 and drives the motor 9. Thus, the member 4 in press contact onto the sheet 1 is parted from the sheet 1 and the depression of the sheet 1 onto the head 3 is released.
