The invention relates to a multilayer damping body which can be adapted, preferably individually, anatomically to a human body extremity, a method of adapting it as well as a method of manufacturing an orthopaedic insole, such as can be used as an example for the damping body according to the invention. The damping body consists of a supporting construction made of an elastic, dimensionally stable support layer (2) on the side facing away from the body part, a soft elastic cushion layer (3) stuck thereto and facing the body part, and a cover layer (5) made of leather, fabric or the like. The support layer (2) is preferably thin and made from a polyester foil which can be deformed in the heated state. The cushion layer (3) consists of a temperature-stable cushion foam. <IMAGE>
