PURPOSE:To control the temperature in a fluidized bed and make it possible to keep the amount of evaporation constant by providing an ash conveying pipe passage for recycling the ash collected from the outlet of a dust collector to a fluidized bed and controlling the temperature in the fluidized bed with the collected ash to provide constant air and fuel volumes. CONSTITUTION:While a boiler 1 is operated with the temperature in the fluid ized bed of the boiler 1 which burns sludge coal in the waste liquid produced in the coal selection kept at 950 deg.C, if the amount of ash collected in the ash conveying pipe passage 26 from a dust collector 19 is increased from 4 T/H to 20T/H, it is possible to lower the temperature in the bed down to 860 deg.C with a constant heat input (constant supply of fuel) and constant supply of air. Even in this case there in not much difference in the amount of evaporation from a drum 15. In this way it is possible to control the temperature in the bed by changing the amount of ash collected from the ash conveying pipe pas sage 26 to the fluidized bed 3 without changing the amount of fuel from a fuel supply device 7 and the amount of air from air supply pipes 16 and 18, and it is also possible to maintain the amount of evaporation at substantially a certain value.
