A scanning fire-monitoring system comprising a fire source detecting apparatus including a detecting head having a small field of vision and adapted to detect heat radiant energy from a monitoring area, a vertical scanning drive means for letting the detecting head scan within a detection range of small width on the monitoring area, and a horizontal scanning drive means for mounting said detecting head and said vertical scanning drive means thereon and rotatable in a horizontal direction and an arithmetic unit for carrying out a required signal processing and decision on the basis of a detection signal from the detecting head said detecting head being driven in vertical and horizontal directions to scan over the entire monitoring area. |
