A portable powder spray apparatus incorporating means for powder recovery is disclosed. The powder spray apparatus has a base unit with a front wall divided into a lower section and an upper section offset rearwardly towards the centre of the base unit relative to the lower section and horizontal supports extending between the two sections. A booth is removably mounted on the horizontal supports to form a powder coating chamber. Spray gun means form a coating upon a moving substrate which passes through the powder coating chamber by way of openings formed in the booth. Oversprayed powder is collcted in a powder collection chamber located in the base unit from which it is returned to the spray gun means. Oversprayed powder which does not fall into the powder collection chamber is collected in a filter system through which it is drawn by a blower means which creates a negative pressure in the booth. |
