PURPOSE:To detect abnormality in an opposite device automatically, by providing a clock generator and a clock cut-off detection circuit at a device on one side, and a slave driver that outputs a clock, when receiving, to a backward path cable in return at the device on the other side. CONSTITUTION:In the titled system, a signal received by a receiver 250 advances to the nucleus part of a device 20, and also, it is returned, then being inputted to a driver 230, and the driver 230 outputs it to a backward path cable 12. A clock 170 generated at a clock generator 100 in a device 10, when being outputted to a forward path cable 11 by a driver 170, is also received by the receiver 250 in the device 20, and after that, it is outputted to the backward path cable 12 by the driver 230, and is returned to the device 10. A response clock 180 disappears when the runout of the backward path cable 12, or a mis-insertion, or the abnormality in a power source, is generated, and according to the above, a clock cut-off detection circuit 110 generats an error signal 190.
