Reducing nitrogen oxides in flue gases by a scrubber, characterised in that in the separate or integrated circulation process, an aqueous ammonia-containing solution of defined pH range is fed in countercurrent to the untreated flue gas, a temperature of preferably 50 to 90 DEG C being established in the solution/gas mixture.
