The individual radiator (1) and its control unit (2) are connected to a central control panel (3) by a single gas pipe (4) and two-wire electric cable (5). Gas is supplied at pressures (P1,P2) appropriate to different heating requirements by electrically operated thermostatic valves (8,9) and pressure regulators (10,11) connected in parallel to the main gas tap (7). A bypass (15) with its own regulator (14) furnishes a pressure below the min. heating requirement for a pilot light (27). The main burner is fitted with a selective valve (24) remaining closed at the pilot-light pressure. Another bypass (16) is opened by a valve (17) affording a pressure above the max. heating requirement at instants when a delayed electric ignitor (18) triggers a spark gap (19). The arrangement is applicable esp. to infrared heaters for livestock-breeding accommodation. |
