The invention relates to a device for the stream-folding of sheet-shaped or page-shaped material, for example for use in cover-folding feeders for backstitch pamphlet runs. The aim of the invention is to provide a device for stream-folding, in which only simple and low maintenance is necessary. The object consists in providing the forming parts for the folding in an easily exchangeable and low-wear manner. According to the invention, a folding rail (4) designed so as to be wedge-shaped is arranged along a straight conveying path (3), inclined in the conveying direction from the conveying start towards the conveying end, on which folding rail (4) an endless, driven conveying strand (5) slides. On both longitudinal sides of this folding rail (4) there extend endlessly circulating forming strands (8; 9) with a preferably circular cross-section. To achieve a gradual forming, the forming strands (8; 9) run, with respect to the folding rails (4), in the conveying direction obliquely from top to bottom and/or from the outside inwards. At the end of the conveying path (3) there follow two pressing rolls (13; 14) which completely define the fold. <IMAGE>
