Use of a spindle press with a spindle drive which consists of a spindle nut (3) and a spindle (4) and is arranged operatively between the press frame (1) and the carriage (2) which is guided vertically movably in the press frame (1), a clutch connecting the spindle (4) or the spindle nut (3) to a continuously rotary driven flywheel (6) for the relative rotation of spindle (4) and spindle nut (3) which brings about the working movement of the carriage (2), and, arranged operatively between the press frame (1) and the carriage (2), lifting motors (18) for weight balance and for returning the carriage (2), for compressing and compressive solidification, to form shaped bricks, of a dosed filling quantity of granular to pulverulent material enclosed, in a mould (21) with a continuous moulding cavity (22), between a bottom ram (25) supported on the press frame (1) and an upper ram (26) moved with the movable carriage (2) by the spindle drive. <IMAGE>
