PURPOSE:To make it possible to adopt a small size brake and obtain a secure braking constantly, by receiving a brake shaft on the same axial line as an input shaft, and supporting one end of the input shaft slidable at one end of the brake shaft. CONSTITUTION:A spline shaft 1A and a support 1B are formed at an input shaft 1, and the support 1B is pivoted slidable at a bearing 2A which forms a brake shaft 2. Furthermore, an input pulley 4 is fixed to the input shaft 1, and the power of an engine is delivered to the input shaft 1 through a belt 5. The brake shaft 2 is supported by a bearing 7, and at one end of the brake shaft 2, an inner gear 8 is formed to engage with a gear 6 of the input shaft 1, while a gear 11 is formed at the brake shaft 2 to engage with a gear 10 of an intermediate shaft 9. A brake 12 is fixed at the other end of the brake shaft 2, and by rotating a cam 19 through a brake rod 18, a pair of brake pieces 14 are expanded and squeezed to the inner surface of a brake drum 13, to get the braking power.
