PURPOSE:To obtain a stable emphasis characteristic without variance or changing due to temperature variation by storing an emphasis characteristic corresponding to the input level of an analog signal, and executing digital processing. CONSTITUTION:The followings are connected in series: an A/D converter 10 for analog signals such as video, etc., a decoder 11 that specifies an address corresponding to the output level of the said converter 10, a memory 12 that stores an emphasis amount corresponding the analog signal level in the specified address, and a D/A converter 13 for the digital emphasis amount outputted from the memory 12. As a result of such a constitution, the stable emphasis characteristic is obtained without variance such as the conventional diode characteristic and characteristic change due to temperature variation.
